Hannah!
You are so amazing I write this without being able to comprehend the pain that you are going through. I know that through this all the Lord will bring you closer to Him, I pray for you often. I am so thankful that I was alble to meet Gabe and spend some time with you two. I know that he was your hero even before he left this earth. I love you and I pray that as you go throughout your days you will continue to look up and know that through all this our Lord has a bigger plan that we are unable to see. You are a strong woman and shown and taught me so much while I watch you go through this loss! I will continue to pray for you and little Gabriel and I look forward to seeing you:) Love Katie ~ Romans 5:1-5

We had the opportunity to meet your brother, Caleb, and his beautiful family when they visted Eatonville Baptist Church. We heard of your loss through their newsletter and wanted to offer our prayers to you and the rest of your family at this difficult time. While he is no longer here physically, it sounds like he has left a wonderful legacy behind for his son, you and the rest of his family. God bless you, keep you and may you find comfort in knowing that one day you will see your precious Gabe in heaven.

I knew Sgt.Deroo when he was a Private, and he was a great soldier and a great person. He always had a smile on his fae and was always laughing at SPC Hickson's goofiness. He was a brother to us all in the Infantry Family, and the Stryker Brigade. His name will live on in our hearts and in our minds, and will never be forgotten.

Hannah,
We did not have the chance to meet Gabe, but we know you and your dear family and know that he must have been the finest of young men to win your heart. His bravery as a soldier and defender of our freedoms, his faith and Christian witness, his devotion to you and your son are the qualities we hope to instill in our own sons. It was an honor for us to talk to our boys about Gabe and to hold him up as an example of what it means to be a man. We are holding you, your beautiful son, and loving family close to our hearts in prayer. May the love of Jesus, the fellowship and comfort of his followers and the prayers of all who love and pray for you bring you comfort.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Our hearts go out to you as you suffer the loss of Gabe. He was a fine young man, and we are sure you are so proud of him for his strong Christian witness and convictions and his dedication to our country. May God comfort and encourage your hearts.

Hannah,
Gabe became more than just my brother-in-law; he became my best friend. Never forget, he gave his life to keep you and little Gabriel safe. He is a true hero. I am so proud to have had him as my brother and I will miss him dearly.

I don't know you personally, but I know this is the hardest time of your life. I recently lost a son and I know things can be unbearable, but you have your son, and God, and those dear to you. Your husband was a brave man and we are all here today because of people like him. If you ever need to talk or vent, e-mail me. Ther is a very good book I have been reading, A Future and A Hope, Sermons of Comfort in Seasons of Confusion, By Jon Courson. Once again, so sorry for your loss.

Dear Hannah, My heart aches for you at Gabes death. The one thing I would have you remember is that God gave us Memories. I believe he gave them to us help us grieve. We have so many wonderful memories of Gabe, you & Baby Gabe. I know you treasure them as I will also.
God is a remarkable God and he has put you in a wonderful family so they can help you endure the pain of Gabes sacrifice for all of us in giving his life for his country and for the Iraqi People.
Gabe was a very dear friend and I will never forget the friendship God allowed us to have and the impact he had on my life. Thank you Hannah for letting me wrote to him during his 1st tour in Iraq.
In Psalm 62: 5-8 We find Peace & Rest " Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;my hope comes from him.He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shacken , my salvation and my honor depend on God, he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people;pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge". I pray there is great comfort in his word at this time Hannah.
You have been a great example to all of us in seeing how God has been holding you up during this time of grief.
Hannah I am here for you if you ever need anything at all. I even clean toilets. You know what I mean. I Love you and I am here to help with anything.
I will continue to lift you up to our Heavenly Father every dayand I know he will guide you in His direction as you go on. I Love you....

We are so sorry for your loss. The war is so much more personal to us because of your loss. We have always appreciated those who serve to protect our freedom but now we have a very special name attached to that price.
We continue to pray for you and all your family. In God's most precious love for those of us who have confidence in His power.

You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I have never met Gabe but I am a good friend of a friend of his and I heard nothing but great things about him. A person like him is hard to come by these days and the time he spent here was enough to touch the lives of so many by the looks of all the messages! God bless and I send out all of my love to Hannah and little Gabe. Take care.

My heart and more importantly my prayers go out to the Deroo family. I am a former student of Mr. Deroo, ("organization is a key to success") from the late 80's. Mrs. Deroo would bring the children to Mr. Deroo's class, they were very small and even though I was a lost sinner, their family had an impact on me, I knew they were a beautiful christian family. Thank You for offering this place of tribute.
God Bless, Valerie (Day) Jackson

We are so sorry for your loss and pray for your family. What a hero this man of God is. May his life and death be a testimony to the grace of God. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by
the power of the Holy Spirit."
Thank you for sharing your beautiful story with the rest of the world. It really put a face to the many who are serving our country. A thousand thank yous for the sacrifice you have made.

It's the brave sacrifice of warriors like this that makes America a truly great place to live. We mourn your loss but we celebrate the life of a true American hero. We didn't know you personally, but we know a hero and a heroes family when we see one. And we hope we'll meet you in heaven one day.

You have been in our thoughts daily. In addition to the messages of sympathy we've sent, we wanted you to know that we think your Memorial page and pictures are a nice tribute to Gabe.

You probably don't know us but we have been to church several times and were there when Gabe and and the rest of the soldiers were commissioned before leaving. It was with great sorrow when we heard that Gabe had been killed. He died doing what he felt led to do and is now with our heavenly Father. I know you will miss him greatly. Know that that our prayers are with you and your family. Susan and Vernon
