Dear Hannah,

What a lovely family you are blessed with! Looking at your family pictures with you and your husband Gabriel with little Gabriel II must be comforting for you. The smiles, the happiness and the twinkle in your eyes even, say it all in those photos. Love abounds, indeed.

Your husband made the greatest sacrifice a man can do by offering his life for his country. In my eyes he is a true hero.
Please know that I am one of those many people whose thoughts and prayers go out to you and to your little one. May your heart be full of peace and enlightenment. I am sure that your husband is watching over you and his son right now.
To your parents Mark and Nancy and to all your family and to Gabriel's as well, I offer my heartfelt sympathy. I thank your cousin Mike Suko for sharing the info about this website with me. I attended your sister's wedding with him last year. God bless!

Dear Hannah,

The Lord gave me a special blessing at your sister Ruths bridal shower. He allowed me the honor of sitting next to you and getting to know you a little...you and your family were willing to be used of the Lord in protecting our country and our freedoms and securing these blessing for our future generations. I know freedom is not free and your sacrifice filled my heart with gratefulness as I know what it costs. You and little Gabe will forever be in mine and my family's prayers. We will not forget your awesome sacrifice and if there is ever anything we can do for you...please don't hesitate to ask. You, Gabe and little Gabe are heros in our eyes! Thank you, Hannah!

Dear Hannah and Little Gabe,

For the short time I knew Gabe, he made the biggest impact on mine and Eric's life. Everyday when he came home from work, he would mention him. And even though I wasn't that close to him, I felt like I was because of all the great stories Eric would tell me every single day. He was such a good rolemodel to Eric and all of the guys. I wanted Eric to look up to him, and he did. I can't remember how many times I told him, "Be more like Gabe.." or "What would Gabe do in this situation?.." He really impacted our lives more than you will ever know, and I know you will raise Little Gabe to be just like him. I am truely sorry for your loss. He was one of the greatest men I have ever known, and I think of all of you every single day.
We will never forget his or your sacrifice. We love you Gabe, and we will miss you until we see you again.

My dearest daughter Hannah and little granson Gabriel. I have been thinking about what I would like to put here and the Lord made it clear while fixing your fence two weeks ago. I had promised Gabe to help keep your house up and watch out for you before he left. While in Gabe's little work shed getting some tools I noticed a black coffee cup in the corner with words on it "Real Men are Godly." He had purchased that cup at church last year during our special Men's Discipleship study. Gabe exemplified that theme. He was a real man but godly also. He was a soldier's soldier who kept in shape but also a loving and caring husband and selfless person. That is a rare combination. It was a privilege to have had him in our discipleship group and see him grow. I pray some day little Gabe will be encouraged to follow in his father's footsteps and be a real and godly man too. I know God has given you unusual strength to guide him. He is blessed with a wonderful example in both of you. Love you. Dad.

It was a great privilege to have him for a son-in-law and prayer partner. I have no regrets.

Dear Hannah and little Gabe and the DeRoo and Suko families,

I'm a friend of Amelia Rogers and she asked that we pray for you and your family and what you have experienced. May God wrap His arms around you, Hannah and your little Gabe and keep you in His care. I pray that God would give you peace and comfort in your hearts and that you would experience God in a deeper way. Phil. 4:7, "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The memory of Gabe has made us better people, stronger Christians and prouder Americans. You never realize how much you miss someone or how much of an effect they have on you until they are gone. Gabe was that person, that soldier, that friend, that brother, that husband, that father and most of all that man of God. May Gabe's legacy live on in all our hearts.

Dear Hannah and little Gabriel, we pray now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
